Brilliant piece. Most of us got over Ayn Rand as teen agers. Plus, what always amazes me about techno-libertarians (or anarcho-capitalists which better conveys their hypocrisy) is that they are the first to reach for the public teat whenever their schemes go south. They are blackmailers suggesting that we play by their predatory rules, or they will take their ball and go home.

Whenever otherwise sane people argue for national divorce, I ask them them do they really think that the belligerence will end with separation? It would be far worse than India's partition, not to mention that most of the military bases are in Red States. Ask the folks in the Ukraine, who should get to keep the nukes?

As for their welcoming the end of days, I agree that their Galt Gulchers make perfect targets.
