Excellent essay Keira. When at Stanford I met an MD researcher who tracked down living humans with very ancient and convoluted bloodlines. Among other things he discovered that race was mostly about environmental adaptations, and that essentially there is only one race, the human race. By the way it was Spencer and the eugenicists who coined the phrase "survival of the fittest" , not Darwin. Without altruism, reciprocity, and corporation, humans would have gone extinct eons ago. Unfortunately we are headed there pell mell at present.
