Great essay. Your three types do make a dangerous brew. Turchin's too many elites is an interesting and important observation, and his bringing stats to history is a breakthrough. But, he does not tell us much about the motives of our overlords like say like Veblen's Theory of the Leisure Class does. They want a feudal society, and they are getting it. The Neoliberal/feudalists convinced us that they served us, yet they only served the elite. Not to mention opened the door for fascist scapegoating and systemic racism, sexism, etc. The rentier have revitalized themselves via the new digital monopolies, and tell they are the crown of creation.
