Great essay MO. However, people support Trump, because as you say, America has lost much of its past glories and because out government panders to plutocrats (things that they fail to appreciate he will only make much worse). But much more importantly because their brains have been washed. And the real danger of Trump is that we will all get brained washed one way or another, we will be terrorized into becoming a Nation of Trumpers long after he is gone. This is the Far-Reich agenda.
