Great point Michael. Generals in WWII had psychological studies that told them the average soldier could not kill, except maybe to protect their buddies. That is why our media sends everyone down "my family will die" rabbit holes. Plus, now, of course, combat training involves 1000s of hours with first person shooter games. Killing actual other human beings still requires a certain lunatic mindset, but they are working on it. Not the mention the reality that once the shooting starts one would likely kill all the neighbors one would need to actually survive the chaos.
