My point is mostly that 1) economics is more a cult than a science, and 2) the Prize in economics started in the 1970s mostly to fortified the policy power of an especially malignant cult (e.g., Mount Pelerin Society Members), and 3) the two women given (one to my colleague Lin Ostrom) were certainly worthy of such recognition, but their contributions remain tangential to the ideology of the cult of mainstream economics.
