SPOT ON. Once hegemonic empire became a matter of who controls the money and banking, all notions of moral and intellectual leadership went out the window. China will most likely be the new hegemon, but only if they are willing to become the world's banker. Hegemony really will be a pyric victory if the planet dies in the meantime.
