Very interesting essay. Obviously farming allowed us to stay in one place, and literally ended the wild goose chase (keeping in mind how far they migrate). But it was a mixed blessing, for along with culture it also brought money, banking, and all that other questionable BS (Princes, Bishops, Hedge Fund Managers). We could always go back to eating dirt, and whatever flies or wanders by, and probably will (not to mention each other), if we don't get a handle on climatic change.
