Very profound stuff, Cheers Mike! Toffler"s Future Shock tried to tell us this long ago now. He has a centuries long timeline of technological change and then shows us that 90% of it takes place in our lifetime. A fact that renders us catatonic. Veblen a long forgotten economist, also told us how institutions defend societal retardation in the face of accelerating technological change, and eventually returns us to barbarism. We were talking about climate change in terms of comprehensive energy policy back in the 1970s. But BIG OIL extended its dominance for another 50 years. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!!!! Can't recall if I sent you this before, so here it is: http://www.paecon.net/PAEReview/issue102/Daneke102.pdf
