Holy Crap Lannie, you just transported me back to my youth. When I lived in the SF Bay Area I attended one of their New Years Eve concerts. Today my favorite for sometime now has been Touch of Grey. As for Folk Rock, my favorite groups of all time was Buffulo Springfield and The Mamas and the Papas.
